Canada Day!

 Yup Canada Day! That's how far behind I am! : ) We took a drive on Canada Day to go check out Elbow Falls. It was colder outside than it looked but it was fun and pretty!

 We stopped at a little lake next to the highway on the way back and Aden got to throw rocks into the water. He was in heaven.

The Lake

 Okay this post is really about a day we spent at the lake but I had to include the two photos above of my dear sweet daughter stuffing her face. She doesn't this regularly. We were at my friend Lynette's house and she had these veggie sticks for her kids. Well my daughter grabbed a handful and started shoving. What a goof!

And now the lake! McKenzie Lake in Calgary to be more specific. My friend Vicki lives in the neighbourhood of McKenzie Lake so she regularly takes us to the beach to play in the water. It's a beautiful lake! I love it and so do the kiddies. Thanks Vicki!

Last day of U4 Soccer

Aberdeen got Sick

Aberdeen got sick. So sick! We didn't know what to do for her. She just threw up and slept, and slept and slept some more for a good 5 days. At least we got some snuggles out of it! : )

The Driveway and the Accident

 Our driveway got poured. The house looks more like a house with it's driveway.

Then there was the accident....the day after I took the above pictures our final grade was put in. A hydraulic line on one of the bob cats burst and sprayed hydraulic fluid all over our driveway, sidewalk, stone work and siding. They were really apologetic about it and tried to clean it up with a de-greaser and power washer a couple of times but it didn't come out. We were told that they'd come and re-poor the driveway no problem but then a much happier solutions was offered. Since the fluid was just on the surface of the driveway it was suggested that we go with an exposed aggregate look instead. Basically they'd come and sand blast off the top layer of the driveway giving us the exposed aggregate look. Exposed aggregate is an upgrade and one we really like so we were more than happy to take this option providing it actually got rid of the hydraulic fluid. So a few weeks later our driveway was sandblasted and problem solved. A happy accident in the end. For the record the stone work and siding were all replaced right away as well. Back to new! I have pictures of the sandblasting and the exposed aggregate look which I'll post later. Below are the pics of the spill.
