Olympics Past and Present

Oh to be young and carefree again, haha! These photos were taken at the '88 Olympics. The top one at Prince's Island Park I believe and the bottom one at the corner of MacLeod Trail and Heritage Drive in Calgary when the Olympic torch went through the city.

I had a disappointing Monday this week. The torch once again came through Calgary and just happened to be going by the same spot that I saw it 22 years ago. I decided to take Aden to see it as I thought it was pretty dang cool that I'd get to see the torch again but this time with my own child. Well we missed the torch by roughly 3 minutes or so I was told. I was hugely dissapointed, partly with myself and partly with the torch relay for being ahead of schedule. At any rate this post was meant to have the picture of me and Aden seeing the torch all these years later but instead it's just this. I hope I get the chance to see the torch again and maybe even from the same spot, you just never know...and next time I'll go extra early!
Hope Allison and friends don't mind me splashing their fancy '80's style up on my blog. Come on we all need a good laugh now and then. I mean check out that crimped hair and sparkly bow on my head! haha!

  1. We were oh so stylish!! It probably took our mother's hours to crimp that hair. Allison
