First! Feb. 4 marked my Etsyversary (a.k.a. my one year anniversary of having a shop on Etsy). Jason bought me roses and beef jerkey. What a guy! Seriously it was so nice of him. My shop means a lot to me so it was great to celebrate!

Random Pics of the Boy
I don't really know what to say about most of these. They're just plain silly! Enjoy!
His new favourite game.
We were getting ready to go out. He doesn't typically wear his hat and mittens around the house.

Olympics Past and Present
Oh to be young and carefree again, haha! These photos were taken at the '88 Olympics. The top one at Prince's Island Park I believe and the bottom one at the corner of MacLeod Trail and Heritage Drive in Calgary when the Olympic torch went through the city.I had a disappointing Monday this week. The torch once again came through Calgary and just happened to be going by the same spot that I saw it 22 years ago. I decided to take Aden to see it as I thought it was pretty dang cool that I'd get to see the torch again but this time with my own child. Well we missed the torch by roughly 3 minutes or so I was told. I was hugely dissapointed, partly with myself and partly with the torch relay for being ahead of schedule. At any rate this post was meant to have the picture of me and Aden seeing the torch all these years later but instead it's just this. I hope I get the chance to see the torch again and maybe even from the same spot, you just never know...and next time I'll go extra early!

Mmm, mmm, good!
I'm trying to be better at finding new recipes. We eat at home a lot more but are getting sick of eating the same foods over and over so I'm trying to come up with new options. Anyway, I thought I'd share this one, Sausage with Peppers and Pasta. We really like it. I totally cut out the cheese though since I'm lactose intolerant. It's still really tasty without it and you could always sprinkle some on top. Also I cute the recipe in half because the full recipe makes a ton and left overs aren't that great in this. What You Need!
6 cups rigatoni pasta, uncooked
1 lb. (450 g) Italian sausage, sliced
1 each: red, green and yellow pepper, coarsely chopped
1 can (540 mL) Italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained
1-1/2 cups KRAFT 4 CHEESE ITALIANO Shredded Cheese
1/4 cup KRAFT 100% Parmesan Grated Cheese
Make It!
COOK pasta as directed on package. Meanwhile, cook sausage in large skillet on medium heat 10 min. Stir in peppers; cook 7 min. or until sausage is cooked through and peppers are crisp-tender. Stir in tomatoes; cook 2 min. or until heated through.
DRAIN pasta. Add to sausage mixture with shredded cheese; mix well.
TOP with Parmesan.

Stuff
I cooked a roast chicken! Okay I know this doesn't seem too earth shattering but for me it is! I've always been a bit scared of them and a whole chicken is a lot of food for just me and Jay since we don't like leftovers all that much. But I found a yummy looking seasoned chicken at the store the other day and thought I'd try it. It cooked great and neither of us got sick so I guess it was a success. I felt so domestic!
We're almost done painting Aden's new room. We emptied it out and the yellow is gone replaced by a very light grey/brown. Soon it will hopefully have furniture in it. Aden will get a big boy bed too pretty quick here. It's currently in our living room waiting for the crib to be moved then we'll set it up in his current room till he's used to it and then move him to his new room. Poor kids going to have a lot of changes in the next few weeks!
Well that's it for now. I have pics and other posts coming. I'm a terrible at keeping this blog updating but I'm trying to get better!

Adenisims
Me: Aden come eat your muffin.
Aden: Okay, okay, relax. I'm coming.
Relax has become a common word the last little while. No idea where he picked that up but I suspect it was from us. It sounds like something we'd say. You know in a joking way.
